Columbia Sportswear Connects Development Teams with TFS
Carl and Richard talk to Brian Summers and Dave Harrison of Columbia Sportswear about their work with Team Foundation Server. Brian and Dave discuss how TFS has allowed them to build a common work planning environment for almost all of the developers at Columbia, including .NET, Java and ABAP (SAP) programmers. The conversation dives into how the different teams are able to collaborate, how they've built a service bus based on Biztalk and the future of even more rapid application development with TFS 2012.
Brian Summers is the Director of Technical Services at Columbia Sportswear. He is responsible for multiple development teams using .NET, Java, ABAP, RPG, BizTalk, Informatica, SQL and other technologies. He has been managing development teams and projects for over 20 years. Away from work, Brian enjoys spending time with his family, golf, and racing his Spec Miata with the Sports Car Club of America.
Dave Harrison manages the .NET development team at Columbia Sportswear. He's been working on the .NET stack since 2002 and loves ADO.NET entity data models, MVC4, and catching steelhead and fat trout on Oregon's fabled Deschutes River. He has two 4-year-old girls and is thinking of writing a book on Services Oriented Parenthood.
