While at DevReach 2010 in Bulgaria, Carl and Richard talk to Scott Stanfield, Stephen Forte and Lino Tadros about the working relationship between developers and designers. The conversation explores a number of platforms, including iPhone, Android, Windows Phone 7, Blackberry, Silverlight, Flash and more.
Scott Stanfield is the CEO of Vertigo Software, Inc., a 4-time Emmy award nominated digital design and development shop in the SF Bay Area and Portland. They do big video apps like the Olympics, Sunday Night Football and the Superbowl. He is a frequent public speaker, presenting on software technology and design for the past 20 years. Before starting Vertigo in 1997, Scott worked at Pixar in Point Richmond, California, which happens to be the current home of Vertigo. Stephen Forte a managing partner at Fresco Capital and the co-founder and accelerator director of the Laudato Si’ Challenge, inspired by Pope Francis. Prior he was the Chief Strategy Officer of Telerik, a leading vendor of developer and team productivity tools (acquired by Progress Software.) Stephen was the founder of Mach5, a Silicon Valley-based startup accelerator and co-founder of AcceleratorHK, Hong Kong’s first startup accelerator. Stephen has an MBA from the City University of New York and did post-grad work at the London School of Economics. An avid mountain climber, Stephen leads a trek in the Mt. Everest region every fall to raise money for charity. After several years as an ex-pat in Hong Kong, Stephen now lives in Silicon Valley with his wife and daughter. @worksonmypc
Alain "Lino" Tadros is President & CEO of Falafel Software, a Silicon Valley based company, with presence in Colorado, Texas, Michigan, Florida and North Carolina, dedicated to providing world-class consulting, training, and software development for small, medium, and enterprise level businesses. Prior to founding Falafel, Lino was a member of the development team at Borland for Delphi and C++Builder. Lino has been awarded Microsoft MVP status 12 years in a row for his numerous contributions to the C# community and is an expert in .NET, LINQ, ASP.NET, MVC, XAML, Windows Phone and Web Services. Lino is an industry renowned speaker and has given numerous presentations on five different continents since 1994. He also currently sits on the Board of Directors of four Silicon Valley corporations.
