Bot Framework Adventure Games with Edwin van Wijk and Sander Molenkamp
What can you do with the Bot Framework? How about make old-school 8-bit adventure games? While at UpdateConf in Prague, Carl and Richard chatted with Edwin van Wijk and Sander Molenkamp about the GameATron4000 open source project that ties the Bot Framework together with Phaser.io graphics to make simple, funny adventure games. The conversation explores how the Bot Framework simplifies the whole command engine of the game, being able to deal with the variations in language to still get to the intent commands of the game. Sander Molenkamp is Cloud Solution Architect at Info Support. He has been helping customers designing and developing solutions using Microsoft technology for more than 18 years and has a passion for cloud native architectures. He’s a Microsoft Azure MVP and co-organizer of the Dutch Azure Meetup. At Info Support, Sander is a Microsoft Competence Center lead, where amongst other things he enjoys hosting the dotnetFlix podcast.
Edwin van Wijk
Edwin van Wijk has been active in software development since 1999 and is currently working as Principal Software Architect at Info Support in The Netherlands. He helps organizations with adopting modern software-architectures for their LOB systems. He's a Developer Technologies MVP since 2016 and his primary areas of expertise are: distributed systems, software-architecture and -patterns, Cloud, containers and devops. He enjoys sharing his knowledge about these subjects and is the organizer of the Web-Scale Architecture NL MeetUp.
