It's Show 1700! For a bit of fun, Carl and Richard invited the six most frequent guests on .NET Rocks over the past eighteen years - Michele Bustamante, Rocky Lhotka, Billy Hollis, Kathleen Dollard, Tim Huckaby, and Phil Haack. The conversation digs into memorable moments on the show for each of the guests, plus lots of commentary about making shows, the state of the industry, and favorite funny (if maybe a bit off-color) story. From the first show in August of 2002 to now... thanks for being with us for eighteen years. We are grateful.

Carl Franklin
Carl Franklin is a Microsoft MVP for Sensors and Devices, co-host of .NET Rocks! - the longest running .NET podcast (2002), and Executive VP of App vNext. Carl has been a leader in the .NET community since the very beginning with hands-on training, application development and consulting, and community evangelism.
Carl is also an accomplished musician and audio/video producer. In 1999 he started Pwop Studios, a full-service audio and video post production studio in New London, CT, where Carl records and produces the podcasts as well as music and video projects - both for The Franklin Brothers Band and the public. In 2013, Carl released his first solo album, Been a While, which features a tune with legendary jazz/blues guitarist John Scofield on guitar, as well as an incredible group of musicians local to New London, CT.
In 1994, Carl and friend Gary Wisniewski started Carl and Gary's Visual Basic Home Page, the first non-Microsoft VB website on the Internet. He wrote two books on Internet Programming in Visual Basic for John Wiley and Sons and taught VB6, VB.NET and ASP.NET development onsite at many Fortune 500 companies and also at his training facilities in CT.
Richard Campbell
Richard Campbell has been involved with microcomputers and software since 1977. His career has spanned the industry both on the hardware and software sides, from manufacturing to sales, service, game development, line-of-business software and large scale systems. He's been deeply involved in creating new businesses around software, hardware, services and products in a huge range of roles, including technical, management and financing. During the halcyon days of the DotCom Boom he was a consultant to venture capital firms providing technical due diligence and architectural direction.
Today Richard consults with a number of clients on software architecture and future directions of technology. He is a Microsoft Regional Director and MVP. He's a partner in PWOP Productions, creating a variety of multimedia programs including ".NET Rocks!, the Internet Audio Talk Show for .NET Developers" (www.dotnetrocks.com) a podcast produced twice a week for more than 250,000 listeners in 120 countries and The Tablet Show (www.thetabletshow.com), a weekly podcast focused on tablet and mobile development. In addition he's the host of RunAs Radio (www.runasradio.com), a podcast for the IT Professional using Microsoft technologies. You'll find Richard at numerous conferences all over the world.
Billy Hollis
Billy Hollis is an internationally known UX design generalist, software architect, and team leader. He has also authored or co-authored over a dozen books. He’s a long-time speaker at major tech conferences, with over 400 sessions on software development, IT practices, and UX design. He leads a team of world-class multi-platform developers at Next Version Systems, where the team creates and implements trailblazing UX designs for companies from Fortune 100 down to medium-sized technology companies. Billy has also done video courses for Pluralsight and LinkedIn Learning. His latest course on LinkedIn is on how to interview software developers.
Michèle Leroux Bustamante
Michele Leroux Bustamante is a founder and CIO of Solliance (solliance.net), founder of Policy Server, a Microsoft Regional Director and Microsoft Azure MVP. Michele has years of experience in many fields including software architecture and design, identity and access management, cloud computing technologies, security and compliance, and DevOps.
Rocky Lhotka
Rockford Lhotka is Chief Software Architect at Marimer LLC and is the creator of the open source CSLA .NET development framework. He is the author of numerous books, and regularly speaks at major conferences around the world. Rockford is a member of the Microsoft Regional Director and MVP programs. Kathleen Dollard
Kathleen Dollard loves to code and loves to teach and talk about code. She’s written tons of articles, a book, and spoken around the world. She’s on the .NET Team at Microsoft where she works on the .NET managed languages (C#, F#, and Visual Basic.NET). She’s always ready to help developers take the next step in exploring the wonderful world we call code.
Tim Huckaby
Tim Huckaby is an industry luminary focused on AI, Computer Vision, Machine Learning, AR/MR, & Emerging User Experiences.
Mr. Huckaby has over 35 years of technology experience including serving on a server product team as a development lead on an architecture team at Microsoft. Mr. Huckaby worked on some famous and not so famous Microsoft Server products in the late nineties. Mr. Huckaby is a Microsoft Global RD, a Microsoft MVP and serves on many councils and boards like the Microsoft Application Development Partner Advisory Council.
Mr. Huckaby has been awarded many times for the highest rated technical & industry presentations and keynotes for Microsoft and many other vertical & technology conferences like CES and events all around the world. Having worked for or with Microsoft for over 25 years, Mr. Huckaby has been on stage with, and done numerous keynote demos for many Microsoft executives including Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer.

Phil Haack
Phil Haack has over twenty years of experience in the software industry. Prior to A Serious Business, Inc., he was a director of engineering at GitHub and helped make GitHub friendly to developers on the Microsoft platform. Prior to GitHub, he was a Senior Program Manager at Microsoft responsible for shipping ASP.NET MVC, NuGet, among other projects. These products had permissive open source licenses and ushered in Microsoft’s Open Source era. Phil is a co-author of GitHub for Dummies as well as the popular Professional ASP.NET MVC series and regularly speaks at conferences around the world. He’s also made several appearances on technology podcasts such as .NET Rocks, Hanselminutes, Herding Code, and The Official jQuery Podcast.
