What was this?
Carl and Richard loaded up the DotNetMobile (a 30 foot RV) and drove cross-country to
to show off their favorite bits of Visual Studio 2010 and .NET 4.0! Richard talked about Web load testing
and Carl talked about Silverlight 4.0 and multimedia.

At each stop they interviewed a mystery rock star guest, and recorded a .NET Rocks! show with them, which got published
the next day (give or take).
They gave away over $220,000 in software from their sponsors:
Where are the shows?
Here are the shows they recorded on the road trip:
Thanks to the Bing Team and Onterra Systems for building the Tracker App in Silverlight 4.0!
The Microsoft Bing team put together a killer Silverlight 4
application that tracked the DotNetMobile all over the United States
They had a special GPS/Cell network gadget on the dashboard. Fans tracked
Carl and Richard in real time. You can view Tweets sent with the #dnr_roadtrip hash,
and view Flickr photos and tweets that fall within a one mile radius
of any point on the map you double-click on.

Ride Along with Carl and Richard
At every stop except the last one, one lucky
geek got to ride along with Carl and Richard in the
DotNetMobile to the next stop
on the road trip. We put them up for the night
and flew them back home in the morning. What fun!
Didn't they do a road trip in 2005?
Indeed they did. In October, 2005 Carl and Richard
took the DotNetMobile across country starting
in Boston and ending in Las Vegas on a very successful
and extremely fun road trip.
Here's a map
of the 2005 route.
