Tony is a SQL Server Most Valuable Professional (MVP) and lives in Melbourne, Australia. Tony has many years experience with all aspects of SQL Server including design, development, developer training, security, high availability & scalability and disaster recovery planning. He founded Tony Bain Group, a company who are leading providers of SQL Server Services throughout Asia Pacific.

Tony has written a number of SQL Server books, the latest being "Beginning SQL Server 2000 DBA" which helps developers and other non-DBAs get up to speed on the administration requirements of SQL Server.

He is currently working on a couple of SQL Server Yukon titles, the first of which is due to be released for public beta of Yukon. Tony often speaks at technical events, such as Tech Ed, where he favors topics on the finer details of SQL Server such as query plan preparation and index optimization.
