Show #522 | 2/4/2010 (47 minutes)
Walling and Taber on Micropreneur Academy.

Rob Walling and Mike Taber talk about the Micropeneur Academy, a web-based community with the mission to assist one-man tech companies in reaching their goals. Membership is not free, but it's not expensive either.

Rob Walling

Rob Walling is a Microsoft MVP in ASP.NET and a ten-year veteran of software entrepreneurship. Rob owns several small technology businesses, including ASP.NET invoicing software DotNetInvoice and niche job website ApprenticeLinemanJobs.com. Along with Mike Taber, Rob help startups and microISVs succeed through the Micropreneur Academy, the first online membership community catering to bootstrapped software startups.

Rob writes about startups and microISVs on his blog, Software by Rob and lives in Fresno, California.

Mike Taber

Mike Taber has more than a decade of experience as an entrepreneur. He started his first company during his fourth out of fourteen years at the Rochester Institute of Technology in upstate New York. Since that time, Mike has owned and operated four different companies.

In 2003, he began working as a software developer at Pedestal Software. The company was acquired by Altiris for more than $65 million just two years later. He has been self employed since leaving Altiris in 2005.

Today, he works with Rob Walling to help startups and microISVs accomplish their goals through the Micropreneur Academy. In addition to the Academy, he runs two independent companies: Moon River Software and Moon River Consulting. Mike writes about software and startups on his blog at SingleFounder.com and lives near Worcester, Massachusetts with his wife, two kids and a blue fish.
