Women in Tech and Code Pub with Astrid de Laval and Andreas Persson
How do we get more women involved in programming? Carl and Richard talk to Astrid de Laval and Andreas Persson about CodePub, a gathering hosted by NetLight to get women coding. The events have been running in Stockholm, Helsinki, Oslo and more over the past several months, drawing larger and larger crowds. Every event involves some coding exercises even for complete novices who have never coded before. CodeHub is looking to put on more events in more places - if you'd like to be a part of it, reach out to them!
Astrid de Laval
Astrid de Laval works as an IT-consultant at Netlight Consulting where she has experience from a variety of industries and clients. Her main focus so far has been within .Net development where she prefers to be involved in the entire stack. While studying applied physics and electrical engineering she was unwillingly forced to take a few mandatory programming courses which she eventually found out was really fun. Astrid has been one of the driving forces in building The Code Pub network with the purpose to increase the number of women working with IT, as well as spreading the initiative across Sweden.
