Steve McConnell is the best-selling author of Code Complete and Rapid Development, winners of Software Development's Jolt award as well as Software Estimation: Demystifying the Black Art, and other titles. In 1998, readers of Software Development magazine voted him one of the three most influential people in the software industry, along with Bill Gates and Linus Torvalds. Steve has served as Editor in Chief of IEEE Software magazine and Chair of the IEEE Computer Society's Professional Activities Board. Since 1996 he has been CEO and Chief Software Engineer at Construx Software.
