Cloud Panel Discussion at DevConnections

While at DevConnections, Carl and Richard were part of a panel discussion on the cloud entitled 'Are We There Yet?' with Brian Noyes, Michele Leroux Bustamante, Brian Prince and Scott Seely. The conversation dug into migrating existing applications to the cloud, greenfield development, security, reliability and scalability.

Brian Noyes

Brian Noyes is CTO and Co-founder of Solliance (www.solliance.net), a Microsoft Regional Director, Microsoft MVP, and Pluralsight author. Brian specializes in building rich HTML and XAML clients and the services that back them with ASP.NET, WCF, and Azure. Brian is author of nine Pluralsight courses, four books, and dozens of magazine and online publication articles. He is a frequent top rated speaker at conferences worldwide including Microsoft TechEd, VSLive!, DevIntersection, DevConnections, DevTeach, DevReach, and others. Brian got started programming as a hobby while flying F-14 Tomcats in the U. S. Navy, later turning his passion for software development into his current career. Michèle Leroux Bustamante

Michele Leroux Bustamante is a founder and CIO of Solliance (solliance.net), founder of Policy Server, a Microsoft Regional Director and Microsoft Azure MVP. Michele has years of experience in many fields including software architecture and design, identity and access management, cloud computing technologies, security and compliance, and DevOps.

Brian Prince

Brian H. Prince is an Architect Evangelist for Microsoft. He gets super excited whenever he talks about technology, especially cloud computing, patterns, and practices. His job is to help customers strategically leverage MS technology, and help them bring their architecture to a super level. In a past life Brian was a part of super startups, super marketing firms, and super consulting firms. Much of his super architecture background includes building super scalable applications, application integration, and award winning web applications. All of them were super. Further, he is a co-founder of the non-profit organization CodeMash (www.codemash.org). He speaks at various regional and national technology events including TechEd. He only wishes his job didn’t require him to say ‘super’ so much. Brian holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Computer Science and Physics from Capital University, Columbus, Ohio. He is also a zealous gamer. For example, he is a huge fan of Fallout 3.

Scott Seely

Scott Seely is the president of Friseton, LLC (www.friseton.com). From 2002 to 2006, Scott was a developer on the WCF/Indigo team at Microsoft. Today, he is a Microsoft Regional Director in Chicago where he helps lead the Lake County .NET Users’ Group, organize Code Camps, and he speaks at user groups throughout the region. His community involvement has earned him a Microsoft MVP Award for Connected Systems.
