While at DevCon in London, Carl and Richard hosted a discussion with guests Ted Neward and Dierk Konig about the differences and similarities between .NET and the JVM. The discussion ranges over the different languages that are implemented against the platform, how the ownership model of the platforms differs and how that impacts the evolution, right down to how to make the two platforms work and play well with each other.

Ted Neward
Ted Neward is an industry professional with twenty plus years' experience. He speaks at conferences all over the world and writes regularly for a variety of publications across the Java, .NET, and other ecosystems. He currently resides in the Pacific Northwest with his wife, two sons, three cats, twelve laptops, seven tablets, nine phones, and a rather large utility bill.
Dierk König
Dierk König works as a senior programmer, mentor, and coach at Canoo Engineering AG, Basel, Switzerland, where he is founding partner and member of the executive board.
He wrote the "Groovy in Action" book being a contributor to both projects, Groovy and Grails.
In 2001 Dierk founded the popular open-source Canoo WebTest project and has managed it ever since. He regularly speaks at international conferences and is published in leading magazines.
