Barbecue evangelist Rockin' Ronnie Shewchuk is the author of three bestselling cookbooks, including his latest, Barbecue Secrets DELUXE!. He is also the host of the Barbecue Secrets Podcast, a magazine-style talk show that celebrates the many pleasures of outdoor cooking. In 2005 Ronnie was named by Food & Wine magazine as one of 'America’s greatest grillers' alongside chefs that included Bobby Flay and Steven Raichlen. As chief cook of the Butt Shredders competitive barbecue team, Ronnie and his friends made history in 2001 by becoming the first Canadians to win a U.S. barbecue championship, the Oregon State Open. Ronnie is the self-appointed Dean of Barbecue Academy, an 'institute of higher grilling' that offers a curriculum of outdoor cooking demonstrations, luxury retreats, team building workshops and motivational speeches with a barbecue theme. Ronnie lives in North Vancouver, British Columbia. When he isn’t tending something on the grill, he’s a communication consultant and video producer specializing in employee engagement, crisis communications and business applications of social media.
