Amazon Fire Apps with Jason and Brian Kriesel

Carl and Richard talk to Jason and Brian Kriesel about their work building Amazon Fire Tablet applications. The conversation starts off talking about the differences between the Android world and the Amazon world - they aren't that far apart! The brothers Kriesel talk about what it takes to maintain an application that runs in regular Android tablets and phones as well as the Amazon Fire world - what features Amazon brings to the table and the strengths of their platform and app store. The discussion also digs into the new Amazon Fire Phone and the concerns around the FireFly SDK. There are pluses and minuses to all the platforms!

Jason Kriesel

Jason Kriesel is the Co-Founder of Chopstick Software LLC. He has worked across multiple industries spanning automotive testing, electronics manufacturing, health care, and aerospace and defense. He is currently an Associate with The Kini Group (http://www.thekinigroup.com). He graduated from the University of Michigan with a degree in Computer Science Engineering and a MBA from the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas-Austin. He has experience in C, C++, .Net, and Java.

Brian Kriesel

Brian Kriesel is the Co-Founder of Chopstick Software LLC. He graduated from the University of Michigan with a degree in Computer Engineering in 2003. He has been a .NET developer since .NET 1.1. He is currently a .NET developer and technical liaison for Hagerty Insurance Agency (http://www.hagerty.com/). Beyond making Android Applications Brian enjoys reading, his dog, kettle, chess, poker, and good food. @bkriesel on Twitter.
