Show #107 | 4/4/2005 (60 minutes)
Scott Hanselman and Rory Blyth
Scott Hanselman returns to DNR for the first time in several months. In this otherwise ASP.NET-centric show, Rory shows off his hands-free flush abilities and Scott rants about Cascading Style Sheets. A great show with more nutritional value than you might expect. Welcome back to the show, Rory!
Scott Hanselman works for Microsoft as a Senior Program Manager in the Developer Division, aiming to spread good information about developing software, very often on the Microsoft stack. Before this he was the Chief Architect at Corillian Corporation, now a part of Checkfree, for 6+ years. He was also involved in a few Microsoft Developer things for many years like the MVP and RD programs and will speak about computers (and other passions) whenever someone will listen. He's written a few books, most recently with Bill Evjen and Devin Rader on ASP.NET. He blogs at http://www.hanselman.com and podcasts at http://www.hanselminutes.com.

"I'm an independent contractor working in Portland, Oregon who began coding at age 5 on a Timex Sinclair 1000, skipped childhood, never went to prom, started working for The Man, and have been loving it ever since. I run a site called Neopoleon.com where I like to discuss .NET, the divide between open source and closed source technologies and communities, the culture behind coders, and various other things that wouldn’t be appropriate to mention here."

Peter Blum
Two great ASP.NET control suites starting at $50! Professional Validation And More contains more than 30 controls covering two areas of the UI: validation and client-side toolkit. Its validation is far superior to the built-in ASP.NET validators and greatly expands the concept. Use it to avoid writing all those custom validators, custom code and hacks users encounter with the ASP.NET controls. The client-side toolkit helps you build interactive web forms with its controls and tools that generate the multibrowser compatible javascript for you.
Peter's Date Package contains 19 controls for date, time and calendar entry. Both products have a huge following with the most testimonials published on www.asp.net Control Gallery of any ASP.NET control.
